Let the students join in and decide on the interior design

Asking the students what they want is a short cut to a successful learning space. School often looks different from the students' point of view – spaces that adults see as boring or superfluous are gold nuggets for children, the choices of colours and materials adults make for children can be entirely different from the childrens' own choices, and so on.

And if you've taken part in deciding the way something should be, and how it should look, you often take greater care of it.
