The idea for the  Twist  stool comes from mathematic's geometric polygons, also known as polyhedrons. The design process is based on the  pentagon, the five sided shape . Thereafter, a different number of sides have been tested, in order to arrive at the fact that the icositetragon, with its 24 sides, is best suited for a four-legged stool.

The 24 sides create the illusion of a round stool seat. Thanks to the seat's sides, the stools' legs are "locked" into one another when stacked. There is no physical limit to the height of a stack and, in the case of many stools stacked to a great height, a beautifully closed side is created which is reminiscent of the old, classical pillars. A stool that is easily sited, which can also be used as a sofa's coffee table or corner table.
