Henry Jarlsson is awarded TMF Nova
TMF Nova was established in 2022 and is awarded each year by the Swedish Wood and Furniture Companies to companies and individuals who are leaders in the industry and inspire others through their way of thinking and working.
TMF's justification:
“If Ingvar Kamprad furnished Sweden, Henry Jarlsson has had just as much significance for Swedish offices. For over 50 years, the "Västgöten" has worked within Kinnarps and carried on and developed the family legacy. As early as 10 years old, he helped out after school, in 1973 he took over as CEO and later developed the business into one of Europe's leading suppliers of office furniture and interior design solutions. And - to this day, he is still chairman of the board.
The journey is an unparalleled example of Swedish entrepreneurship that has not gone unnoticed. In 1987, he became the first to be awarded Dagens Industri's Albert Bonnier Prize for "Entrepreneur of the Year". He has also been a long-term member of SAF's board and chairman of the Swedish Wood Industry Association (later TMF). Henry Jarlsson is loyal to his region – the place that has shaped his work, which bears the group's name and where he operates with mottos such as determination, problem solving and a lifelong ambition to keep production local."
– This really comes as a surprise. I've received a few awards over the years, but it feels extra honorable that it comes from the industry and the organization I've been active in.
– You shouldn't forget that during a professional life, it's uphill for part of the time, and that has also been the case in my case. That's why it feels important to have been involved and worked for better conditions for the segment and the industry we have today.
